Thrift Store Finds

Well, I still have not found any vintage Pyrex yet but I am still on the lookout. I’m hoping with 80 degree weather this weekend that people will start their spring cleaning and there will be treasures for me to find.

Here is what I did find this weekend:
Several “vintage” sheets to sew with…

I see the second one with the ruffle becoming an apron in its future. I also got a set that fits our bed and our blow up mattress, so I’m not sure if I will cut it up or keep it.

Carl decided he must lay on the sheets…

And then later Lilly decided she must too…

I also indulged and bought some canning jars…

And then, my best find of all was a wicker bag. It says “hand made in Hong Kong” on the tag. I fell in love with it in the store and decided that 6.99 was worth it. I took all of my finds up to the register with me and the first thing the cashier rang up was the bag. The cash register said .99, but I just waited patiently to see if it was a code or something. It turns out–the bag was only .99 cents! Totally worth it now. The date on the tag said February 7th, so I think it had just been sitting there too long.

I think down the road, I might try to re-do the inside with canvas or burlap.
